The "Happy Fisherman"~~~or ~~~ Captain "Marvel"

Being out on the water among nature is what I enjoy. Whether it be on the bassboat flying across the water to find the best fishing hole, or cruising on the pontoon boat (again, looking for the best fishing hole). My father-in-law, of whom I never had the chance to meet, told my wife this not long before he passed on, "You will never be closer to God while you're still alive than when you are out on the lake amongst some of His greatest creations." I believe his words were very true. I know that everyone is curious as to what may lie outside our galaxy, but the most fascinating things of this universe are still right here on earth, even with some still waiting to be discovered! Anyway, I am just glad and thankful that God put fish in the waters to not only nourish our bodies, but also to entertain our souls.

Bass fishing as been in my family for as long as I can remember. My dad made his own fliers and lures. They were the best around. I can remember going and getting in his tackle box and getting out his scented fishes that he used to fish with and play with them. They all had different scents to them also. When I was about 5yrs old my daddy took me fishing and I out fished him. Mine may have been smaller but I had more... I believe that made my dad happy and sad all at the same time. Happy that his baby girl could fish and sad because I had more than him. I love my dad and he loves to fish.. Any guess who this wonderful man is well.... he is The one and only " Happy Fisherman" or also known as Capt "Marvel"...
I love you dad..

I didn't get a chance to do lots of fishing with my Grandpa(Dick's father-in-law). I did catch my first fish with him, and I don't consider that a coincidence. I will always cherish the memory of landing my first bluegill with Grandpa and how proud I made him that day. Fishing may not have taken hold as my primary hobby like it did for Grandpa, Mom and Dick, but it will always hold a special place in my heart. I look forward to having my children(when I have them) catching their first fish with Grandma and Grandpa(Dick).
